Kingfisher plc
Kingfisher is Europe's leading home improvement retailer with leading market positions in the UK , France , Poland , Italy , China and Taiwan . The group operates more than 560 stores in nine countries across Europe and Asia , and comprises a number of companies, among them Kingfisher Group, B&Q and Castorama.
PPS was enlisted to scope and plan the implementation of a global sourcing system that would benefit Kingfisher, Castorama and B&Q. The day-to-day management of the task was then passed over to an internal Project Manager, to implement using PPS' project management principles.
Working alongside the Project Manager, PPS liaised with key business users at each of the client companies and with the Hong Kong-based software developer to produce a project implementation plan. PPS then created a detailed, timed delivery road map and a user communication and change management plan, encompassing the needs of all stakeholders. PPS liaised with the plc Board for project definition, and approval of all plans.
Kingfisher subsequently retained PPS to advise on global sourcing matters and to coach and mentor the Project Manager during system implementation.
